Mount Vernon REC Center

The Mount Vernon Rec Center reopened in 2025 after a multi-year renovation and expansion. The project included a complete renovation of the existing ice rink, swimming pool, and locker rooms. A large addition was added including a two-story rock climbing wall, fitness center, second NHL sized ice rink with elevated running track, multipurpose rooms, and admin suite. The primary function areas are organized around a large “community hall” designed to promote interaction between community members. The light-filled and welcoming architecture reflects the dynamic and active nature of the functions of the facility. The project is pursuing a LEED Silver certification.
